February 6, 2025

Congratulations to all Winter Sports athletes and Coaches regular seasons are finished
and they are ready and primed for the postseason.

Saturday, February 1st we hosted our Hall of Fame Event to honor our Alumni’s achievements. We started this tradition two years ago to celebrate the lasting impact and legacy these individuals have made in the community. The event was held in between two basketball games to make the whole night a big celebration.

The Girls' basketball team finished their season Monday night. They thrilled the Hall of Fame crowd on Saturday with a 1-point win over Messalonskee avenging an earlier loss in the season.

The boys' basketball team finished the season with a 12-6 regular season record. They currently sit in 6th place in Class A North and will play a quarterfinal game at the Augusta Civic Center on Saturday, Feb. 15th.

The Competition Cheering team finished in 9th place in the KVAC Class B Championship and 8th place in the Class B North regional competition. Saturday, Feb. 8th they will compete in the state championship at the Augusta Civic Center with their performance set to begin around 4 pm. Good luck to the Competition Cheer team at the state competition.

We have 2 girls participating on a co-op ice hockey team. Their team is made up of girls from Winslow, Cony, Gardiner, Messalonskee, Maranacook, and Erskine. The team finished the season with a 6-12 record and in 6th place in Class A North. They won their quarterfinal game in overtime with our players getting two of their team’s three goals.

The wrestling team finished the regular season with an impressive 24-3 record. At the KVAC meet they finished in 3rd place. We had two wrestlers win their divisions. They will be competing in the Class A North Regional Championship at the Cross Insurance Center on Saturday. Three of our wrestlers reached a significant milestone during the season earning their 100th career win, congratulations. Mt. Blue will be hosting the Girls Wrestling State Championship on Feb. 18th. Should be an exciting day of wrestling and our girls have high expectations!

The boys and girls Alpine and Nordic ski teams competed Wednesday in the first portion of the KVAC Championship at Black Mt and will finish the championship at Titcomb MT. on Saturday, Feb. 8th. Best of luck to all our skiers!

Finally, we would like to honor the 14 senior winter sport athletes who were recognized for their outstanding performance in the classroom. These all-academic team selections have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 90 or above during their high school career.
The all-academic athletes include four Boys Basketball players, one Girls Basketball player, three Boys Nordic Skiers, four Girls Nordic Skiers, and two Wrestlers.
