Arrival and Dismissal times
8:40 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.– Student/Parent Drop off
9:00 a.m. – School Begins 
3:10 p.m. to 3:12 p.m. – Walkers/Parent Pick Up/Bus Dismissal
 
Before School Arrival: 
  • Parents/Guardians should screen their children for illness before sending them to school and should not send their children to school if they are ill. 
Drop Off/Pick Up  Location -Turn Around:
  • Please remember to use the turnaround when dropping off or picking up your child at school.  
  • The turnaround is located at the side of the building behind the gym.  
    By using the turnaround, you provide your child a safe walking route to the front door.
  • Please do not park in the turnaround. If parents/guardians want to park they need to use one of the designated parking spaces in the parking lot adjacent to the turnaround.
  • Please do not park on the side of the road or block parked cars in the parking lot. The road is quite narrow and it is difficult for buses to pass in and out of the school.  
  • Parents/Guardians may walk their child to the main door but they may not come inside the building.
    Cars may cautiously pass a parked car - please look for students.
    Students must exit the car onto the sidewalk, not the middle of the circle drive.

Beginning of Day - Arrival

  • Parents/Guardians may drop off their children from 8:40 to 8:50 a.m. at the turnaround.
  • Parents wishing to enter the building will need to make an appointment with staff prior to visit.
  • School staff will be outside greeting students in the morning.
  • Students who need to eat breakfast will go to the cafeteria.
  • Students who do not eat breakfast will go to the playground.

End of Day - Dismissal

  • Parents/Guardians may pick up their children from 3:10 p.m. to 3:12 p.m at the end of day.
  • Parents/Guardians are asked to wait outside when picking up their children at the end of the day.
  • Parents wishing to enter the building will need to make an appointment with staff prior to visit.  
    Other 
  • Attending school is very important for your child’s academic success and social development.  Thank you for reviewing the District Calendar and ensuring your child will attend regularly attend school.  
  • We have very small lockers for students with limited space for clothing and back packs. Please make sure your child comes to school with only those items they need for a successful school day.

 

Welcome!

We are an upper elementary school comprised of 285 students in grades 3rd - 5th grade. Our school is comprised of students from 7 different towns.

Our students engage in traditional in classroom instruction  as well as outside instruction in our gazebo and outdoor classroom in Nina's Woods.  We have several activities including Civil Rights Team, Garden Club, Fall and Winter Outdoor Club and Terrific Tuesdays.

Our staff is committed to providing all students opportunities to grow and learn in multiple ways and settings.

Blue Regional School Department utilizes all assessment data to help inform our practices at the district, school, classroom and individual levels for our students.  Although we encourage students and parents to participate fully in our assessment program, it is important to note that parents/guardians may opt their child out of state testing.  If you are interested in doing so, please reach out to your child's principal to make this request in writing.”
