The Maine Department of Education provided school districts with guidance and indicators for a safe return to school in the fall. The guidance can be found on the Maine Department of Education's return to school website.
Our Planning Process
School districts were asked to develop three models for a safe return to school in the fall - 1) a full return to the classroom with appropriate safety precautions; 2) a hybrid model (part classroom/part distance learning); and 3) full distance learning. RSU 9 district and building administrators spent the summer developing the framework for each model. They were presented and approved by the Board of Directors in August.
