English Language Arts

Mt. Blue High School’s English Department provides experiences, opportunities and support for all students to become more effective communicators and critical thinkers. Whether reading non-fiction or novels, writing editorials or short stories, performing poetry or plays, or designing presentations or projects, Mt. Blue students can expect English classes that provide a variety of pathways to achieving their goals. Mt. Blue English Department faculty believe in the importance of students seeing themselves represented in the books they read as well encountering the new and unfamiliar. As a result, the department is committed to ongoing assessment of its readings and curriculum materials to best reflect the world in which we live.
